Ours tracks the aftermath of the battle of Beaumont Hamel through the story of Thomas Nangle, who was chaplain to the Newfoundland Regiment. Following the war he was named to the Imperial War Graves Commission where he led efforts to properly bury the remains of much of the lost regiment across Europe. He established the existing five war memorial sites across Europe, including Beaumont Hamel, as well as the Newfoundland National War Memorial in St. John’s. His story of sacrifice,…

Ground-breaking at the time of its creation, Beethoven’s Mass in C is among “the most thrilling settings in the history of the Mass”, described by the composer himself as “heartfelt resignation, whence comes a deep sincerity of religious feeling”. The GSO welcomes favourite organist Joe Carere, and the return of guest soloists Lida Szkwarek, Pascale Spinney, Ryan Downey, and Zachary Read, who brought standing ovations in the 2018 GSO production of “Hansel and Gretel”. Scirabin’s First Symphony with the KSO

Russian composer Alexander Scriabin’s first foray in the world of symphonic writing was ambitious to say the least. His six-movement Symphony No. 1 is a lush and dramatic work, which begins with an atmospheric prelude and concludes with a glorious epilogue.
